Think Different

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

NYC Trip

My boss Sam and I flew up to New York Tuesday night after work to meet the rest of our team for LeadsCon. The show was only a couple of days, and we got back into town late last night. Since it was a short trip, we didn’t get to do much outside of the city except for a nice dinner at Delmonico’s and an hour on Canal St. in China Town.

I did wake up early the first morning and go for a nice run in Central Park. :-)

7AM Levee Ride

Since we’ll be in Houston next weekend, I had to get another long training ride in this morning.  I met up with my boss Sam and several other riders from the Audubon Triathlon club.  Going out, we averaged 20+ mph.  I broke off from the group to get in a full 50 miles, and once I did that, my average speed went down some.  Overall, it was a nice morning and a great ride.  Minus the few miles in the park, I averaged probably closer to 19mph.  Check out the ride below.  And if you can, please sponsor me for the MS150 ride coming up October 1.

So the road trip last week to Houston then onto Austin was a success.  We were able to listen to the band we were interested in, and they’ve now been secured with a deposit.  We’d like to thank Andi’s BFF Jessie for putting us up at her house in Austin for the night, and for crashing the wedding with us.

We actually got busted by the bride, the staff, and the security guard for crashing the wedding.  But a little smooth talking from Jessie took care of everything.

1 weekend.  2 cities.  2 bands.  1 birthday party.  1000 miles.

We are driving to Houston today after work, wedding planning/shopping on Saturday, driving to Austin to crash a wedding Saturday night and check out a band, driving back to Houston Sunday morning for Brody’s birthday party, crashing a wedding Sunday night in Houston to check out another band, then finally driving back to New Orleans early Monday morning.

My dad took us to Washington D.C. over the Memorial Day weekend.  Our stops included every museum, monument, Arlington, Georgetown, and lunch with friends in Maryland.  Lots of walking ;-)

The 2nd annual HitPath Crawfish boil was hosted by Ingrid & Cort at their house across the lake in Covington.  Crawfish, hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, jet skis, boating, and swimming in the Bogue Falaya were all on the menu for the day, and late into the night.
