Back In The H-town

Andi and I drove to Houston this past weekend both for Mother’s Day and to hopefully start planning more of the wedding festivities. Things are moving along… slowly.

With the ceremony taking place at Hotel ZaZa, we were able to block off a small allotment of rooms at a discounted rate of $179.00/night.  Rooms fill up quick, and we do realize this is a bit pricey, so we are looking at some other less-expensive options in the area.  As much as I’ve been avoiding it, I will be throwing together a quick little site with all of this pertinent info.  That will be coming soon once we have a few more details hammered down.  We are also working on a band, and will then move on to hiring a photographer.  Then it’s food, cake, flowers, wedding favors, tuxes, bridesmaids dresses, rehearsal dinner, anything else for out of town guests, honeymoon, and a bunch of other items I’m forgetting.  Think I’ll go buy a Powerball ticket this Wednesday…

I do have to finish off by saying our drive into Houston Friday night and the drive back to New Orleans last night were by far the easiest drives we’ve ever had along the I-10 corridor:  5 hours 15 minutes on Friday, 4 hours 45 minutes on Sunday.  75mph cruise control the whole way, very nice!

Andi and I hit the fairgrounds for a sun-filled day of food and music.  For lunch, my menu included a chicken po-boy, oyster po-boy, and soft-shell crab po-boy.  Yes, that’s three sandwiches.  Andi had some of the chicken po-boy, falafel, and we both split a snowball and strawberry lemonade.  On word: mmmmmm.

Jay and Katie joined us for the rest of the afternoon, all of us camped out in front of the Gentilly Stage for performances by Amos Lee and then Jason Mraz.  Good times today, and a nice warm shower tonight.

The Wedding

Last week, we were finally able to secure a venue and set a date for the wedding.  Andi and I will be getting married on Sunday, February 19, 2012 in Houston, TX.  The wedding and reception will take place at Hotel ZaZa, which is located in the Museum District of Houston.

We don’t know the actual times and schedule for the day just yet, but it will take place sometime in the evening, it will be adult-only, and there will be a seated dinner.  Also, I’m not sure if I will put up a full-on wedding website, (sometimes find them to be a bit tacky), but I will definitely throw up a page for the wedding with more details, arrangements, addresses, and directions for the weekend.  When we figure it all out, we’ll let you know.

More details to follow!

HitPath flew 7 of us out to San Francisco for one of the biggest trade shows in digital marketing on the West Coast.  No photos of the actual show, but many of the condo we stayed in, as well as some shots around town.

Hello World

Hello world.

As many of you know, I am a software developer both for websites and online applications.  That being said, I hate spending my free time concocting the next version of my site.  So, I ask that you please enjoy this version for at least the next 6 months, which at that time I’m sure I’ll get the itch and change it up completely all over again.

I worked hard on this version.  It took me all of 10 minutes to install and configure for your viewing pleasure.  <plug>I love me some WordPress.</plug>
