Say Cheese
We now have the wedding photographers. Best friends and business partners Kellie & Traci take some pretty amazing photos, and we are looking forward to them photographing our wedding. Go ahead and check them out at http://www.annemariephotography.com/.
Let’s “Groove” Tonight
So the road trip last week to Houston then onto Austin was a success. We were able to listen to the band we were interested in, and they’ve now been secured with a deposit. We’d like to thank Andi’s BFF Jessie for putting us up at her house in Austin for the night, and for crashing the wedding with us.
We actually got busted by the bride, the staff, and the security guard for crashing the wedding. But a little smooth talking from Jessie took care of everything.
Wedding Crashers
1 weekend. 2 cities. 2 bands. 1 birthday party. 1000 miles.

We are driving to Houston today after work, wedding planning/shopping on Saturday, driving to Austin to crash a wedding Saturday night and check out a band, driving back to Houston Sunday morning for Brody’s birthday party, crashing a wedding Sunday night in Houston to check out another band, then finally driving back to New Orleans early Monday morning.
Back In The H-town
Andi and I drove to Houston this past weekend both for Mother’s Day and to hopefully start planning more of the wedding festivities. Things are moving along… slowly.
With the ceremony taking place at Hotel ZaZa, we were able to block off a small allotment of rooms at a discounted rate of $179.00/night. Rooms fill up quick, and we do realize this is a bit pricey, so we are looking at some other less-expensive options in the area. As much as I’ve been avoiding it, I will be throwing together a quick little site with all of this pertinent info. That will be coming soon once we have a few more details hammered down. We are also working on a band, and will then move on to hiring a photographer. Then it’s food, cake, flowers, wedding favors, tuxes, bridesmaids dresses, rehearsal dinner, anything else for out of town guests, honeymoon, and a bunch of other items I’m forgetting. Think I’ll go buy a Powerball ticket this Wednesday…
I do have to finish off by saying our drive into Houston Friday night and the drive back to New Orleans last night were by far the easiest drives we’ve ever had along the I-10 corridor: 5 hours 15 minutes on Friday, 4 hours 45 minutes on Sunday. 75mph cruise control the whole way, very nice!

The Wedding
Last week, we were finally able to secure a venue and set a date for the wedding. Andi and I will be getting married on Sunday, February 19, 2012 in Houston, TX. The wedding and reception will take place at Hotel ZaZa, which is located in the Museum District of Houston.
We don’t know the actual times and schedule for the day just yet, but it will take place sometime in the evening, it will be adult-only, and there will be a seated dinner. Also, I’m not sure if I will put up a full-on wedding website, (sometimes find them to be a bit tacky), but I will definitely throw up a page for the wedding with more details, arrangements, addresses, and directions for the weekend. When we figure it all out, we’ll let you know.
More details to follow!
